2026 report

2026 was the first year that F-hub.org accepted monetary donations via LiberaPay and initially also a now defunct FOSSpay instance.

This is a work in progress.

Funds received

In 2026 we received XXX € from approximately XX individual donors.

With LiberaPay it is difficult to determine the exact reason of the donation, but from known user-names and similar hints we estimate that about half was donated in many small amounts by users of SLRPNK.net and the rest mostly by a few bigger amounts from long term FreeGameDev.net users / contributors.

After subtraction of an estimated XXX€ for income tax, the available funds were in total: XXX €

Hardware purchases

The following hardware expenses where made in later 2025 or during 2026 and refunded from donations received:

• PiKVM clone (second hand, not including SD card): 35€
• 2 port intel x540 10gbit ethernet PCIe card (refurbished): 
• 8 port 2.5gbit managed switch with 10gbit SPF+ cage: 50€
• 10gbit SPF+ to copper ethernet adaper (second hand): 10€

Defunct FOSSpay / Contributron instance and canceled grant

Early 2025 we successfully applied for an small NLnet grant to add GNU Taler support to a FOSSpay fork called Contributron. Due to lack of progress with this integration and no practical way to use it with Euros by early 2026, we decided to cancel this grant. No money was received as a result.

Despite this, we ran a trial with the Contributron instance using the existing Stripe integration, however when we ran into a bug that caused the monthly payments to be charged twice to the donators, it was shut down in early 2026 to avoid further issues. It is currently not planned to revive this payment option.
